Why The Subways Flood

Please go to the New York Times below and read the article - http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2007/08/08/why-do-the-subways-flood/

..... Lim also said the state government was proposing a subway to help improve the state’s public transportation system.

However, he said, it would cost three or four times more than the Federal Government’s elevated monorail project.

“If we have a subway instead, it will also help improve the drainage system to solve flood woes. This way, we can kill two birds with one stone,” he said....

Lim Guan Eng, please don't take Penang to Holland.

being opposition too long already and hard to change the mentality. When people say monorail they say subway. Someone pls pressure them to give more info and their undersatnding about the subway system asap. Now they are the government already and they cant just suggest something anytime anywhere they like.

Do the government get consensus from Penangites whether we need subway? Where is the transparency in this case? LGE can say anything he likes, what is next? underground tunnel from island to mainland?!

Well said & well done my friend.

something is not right here, we expect the new government to provide well-researched & tought-out solutions to numerous problems confronting the state and NOT simply "tembak"-styled ideas.

Further, do you all notice that the new government from day until now keeps promising/talking this and that but literally zero substantial plans/works being carrie out.

NATO= No Action and Talk Only BUT MIND YOU you are now the government and no longer opposition, you must deliver and not only making promises after promises.

The new government suggested to abolish NEP, replace monorail with subway system. All these projects are under the Federal Government. If the projects failed, the DAP will put the blame on BN. I want to know, what has he initiated that is within the Chief Minister authority? Appointing 2 deputy chief ministers?

U guys know why he proposed the developement of subways. Very simple, monorail was not his masterpiece all the way, he just only want to show off to penangites about his ability...

Holland????

I just realised I was in Malaysia on March 8, 2008 after DAP won in Penang.

All the while I thought Holland was my home when Gerakan was in Power.

Gerakan has started talking about monorail since 1995 election with promises made. In 2008, before the GE, Gerakan was still talking about monorail but not even a single foundation had been erected.

No wonder-lah Penangnites awaken to find out who is the ultimate NATO (NO ACTION TALK TALK TALK ONLY).

Please, Gerakan, please accept the NATO IDOL award from Penangnites for becoming the new opposition in town!

Hope you will hold this award for ages to come.

When Lim Chong Eu wanted to build the First Penang Bridge it also took "ages" before it was approved and built.

The Penang opposition leader at that time said he will jump off the bridge if it was built(he pass away last year). I think he forget to jump. If I am not mistaken he is from DAP.

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER.
