I always consider myself a Malaysian first, yet most Malaysians whether they are Malay, Chinese, India, Kadazan, Iban , etc are proud of their heritage.
Today, a group of Islamic officers raided a kitchenware shop at Carnarvon Street to confiscate bowls, and plates that they deem to contained Islamic/Arabic/Jawi script surrounding Dragon print. These fire designs can also be found in Chinese temples whenever the dragon print , painting, etc adorned those temples.
The fire motif/pattern is a very common design that will usually accompany the dragon print. The Chinese considered themselves the descendent of the dragon, this attempt to confiscate those items are like asking the dragon to puff "water" instead of "fire". I am born in the year of the dragon, it really aggravate the insult.
I think there is a pressing need to have a few liaison officers of various religions attached to all Religious Departments to avoid such insulting actions from repeating again.

Let me try to be constructive.
The actions described by you are done by 'little Napoleons' who are put in place or allowed to be in place by the BN government.
That the BN government continues to exist today is in no small part due to the support of the component parties.
So if you think these actions are ridiculous (as I do), why just bitch about it rather than do something about it?
Make more police reports? Confront the 'little Napoleons' or go back to the BN and urge (how about demand) UMNO to do something about it?
Why not tackle the issue at its root cause? Wouldn't the eradication of the 'umbrella of protection' remove the possibility of these actions by 'little Napoleons' to do it again and again and again?
How can you be angry with what they are doing when your continued participation and support for their 'umbrella of protection'? Isn't this a contradiction?

Today, the religious departments in all states are very intrusive towards other religions. Times and times we have heard they snatching bodies, preventing non-muslim mothers from being together with the muslim children and confisticating items like what you have just said. And this is just tip of the iceberg, go to states like Johor or Pahang and its much worst.
What is the root cause? Its the islamisation or malayisation of governmental services. When Mahatir claimed we are an islamic state to get malay votes after 1999, MCA and Gerakan were completely silent and sold our rights. When DAP spoke, people like Kit Siang were arrested for distributing pamplets saying no to islamic state.
When UMNO went about destroying Hindu temples, Gerakan and MIC again sold the rights of the Hindus.
This is the root cause, UMNO and its stooges.
So if you want a constructive critism, I will tell you this --> be a man with principle and fight UMNO. Dont protect UMNO businesses and UMNO leaders. HKL, Malaysians will never forgive you if you continue to betray us by supporting the racist UMNO. I personally cannot understand why are you still in BN after Penang UMNO told Gerakan to get out of BN and Penang UMNO said Gerakan is the cause of BNs defeat. They even called your beloved pengecut leader KTK a big liar.
What did KTK do? Went to Badawi and cried. Embarassing guy.

Instead of bitching in your blog, why dun you go do something about it? here is a few things you can do:
1. make a police report.
2. Make an official protest statement by Gerakan
3. Street protest?(this is made famous by UMNO racist)
4. Organised a Gerakan base "mat rempit" to terrorised the authorities
5. or just leave BN

Akutaktakut, we understand your frustration and anger towards people we perceive as traitors, but lets deal with him with mature debates.
I also know that HKL deflects his debates with pointless and sometimes baseless allegations against the DAP govt, but you must understand HKL is a sore loser who cannot accept he and Gerakan got kicked out by smart Penangites like me.
I know HKL is a traitor, but Akutaktakut you need to relax because there are hundreds of HKL inside Gerakan.
Penangwarrior brought a good point, 60% of Gerakan members want to join Pakatan but 40% of UMNO dogs are unfortunately the leaders and have a lot of dealings with UMNO. Hence people like HKL wont want to join pakatan although majority of his party members want to join PR.
So Akutaktakut, I hope you understand that there is no point in scolding HKL, he is a just thick skinned traitor of our community.
