Chinese New Year & DAP Divisive Politics (Part 2)

A few days earlier, a reporter of a major national Chinese newspaper sms me that Penang Chinese Town Hall(PCTH) should ask fund from the Federal government as they supported BN during the recent General Election 12. The reporter opinion was that PCTH was not neutral, and deserve to be removed from receiving funding for Chinese New Year Open House.

His thought/wishes on the Federal fund have came true.

Yesterday, the Federal govt allocated RM15,000 to PCTH for the Chinese New Year Open House without any request from PCTH. Personally, it invoke a feeling of uneasiness – this is divisive politics.

I remember when I was younger, reading about many Malay families split between PAS and UMNO. An example, husband is PAS supporter while the wife is a UMNO supporter. Some lead to divorces.

The Chinese New Year should be a celebration without divisive politics. Recently, a relative asked me whether I will go to the annual Penang State Government CNY Open House, without any hesitation, I said, “YES”.

Now, I am having second thoughts. I was too naive, to think that CNY is above politics.

The Penang state government lame excuse of no fund had created a precedent that will lead to future divisive situation.

Now, I will consider that nothing is above politics.

You talk like you were born on March 9 2008. How else could you as a politician pretend to be so naive that celebrations are above politics. Would the Gerakan gov have funded a DAP organised CNY open house?

Probably the only thing that is usually not politicised is death. Politicians will praise the dead even from the opposite party. Even then sometimes you feel that the condolences sent are to gain political mileage in MSM.

PKR -> malay in power, the rest wasting time. objective - Anwar becomes PM.

PAS -> malay in power, the rest wasting time. objective - implement hudud laws and hoping to be a PM

DAP -> Lim's family in power, the rest wasting time. objective - setting up Lim's kingdom in Malaysia and hoping any Lim (father or son only) becomes a DPM.

Ask Lim's family to stop talking nonsense in the media, eventually he becomes a famous star, nothing else.

Can Lim's family create another FIZ/ FCZ in Penang, creating more job opportunities for penangites?

Can LGE or his family contribute something from his pocket, since he alone earning more than RM80,000 every month.

How many people knows LGE is earning more than RM80,000 every month?

If he is so CAT orientated, tell us the breakdown on the press.

Learning is a continuos process, including learning about politics.

Yes, I agreed with you. Pakatan Rakyat especially DAP take politics into a new dimension. DAP bring partisan politics into cultural celebration and religious events such as Wesak Day and Thaipusam.

I think it is a matter of time, DAP will also politicised death and birth.

It is difficult as most of Gerakan Youth members previously focus their time and effort on community service projects and is not use to be as cunning as DAP members.

I think we will most probably fail to emulate this skill as it go against Gerakanis core values.

The Malaysian Hindu Sangam President Datuk A. Vaithilingam said that Hindu Sangam was disappointed that Lim Guan Eng had appointed members of the board who were mostly from one political party.

Vaithilingam said that it has been the policy of the state government for many years to appoint a state executive councillor who is a Hindu to be chairman of the board. The other members are usually from various sectors of the Hindu community, the Hindu Sangam or member organisation of the sangam.
