Based on the latest Bernama report(2.23 pm) the Perak Sultan had asked Mohd Nizar to step down immediately. If Nizar fails to do so, the post would be considered as vacant. The Sultan Office also will not allow the dissolution of the Perak State assembly.
However, a PKR source says Mohd Nizar had refused to do so (Malaysiakini report).
It is the leadership attitude of Pakatan Rakyat leaders - when situations are favourable to them, they are quick to take full advantage, when the situations are not favourable they are quick to find excuses.
I believe the stubborn Mohd Nizar will eventually step down - Pakatan Rakyat is looking for trouble by ignoring the sultan. This is tantamount to 'derhaka".

Nizar and Anwar are not stubborn, they are power crazy.
I'm sure the Sultan of Perak has really thought it through in making this decision, and I really hope he doesn't regret it later. In my opinion he has just set a bad precedence for his state which currently has one side only marginal outnumbering the other. With this precedence, what if two aduns from BN now defect to PR, would he agree to yet another change of government? And what if it happens yet again before the next GE? That would mean total chaos in the administration of his beloved state.
I still think that he should have dissolved the state assembly and call for a snap election and hope that one side wins by a bigger majority so that a stronger and more stable state government may be formed.
The Perak Sultan was full of wisdom when he make this decision.
This is the right precedent to set.
However, if in the future this instability continue i.e repeated frogging - the sultan should disolved the state assembly.
(note: more Pakatan Rakya YBs are expected to crossover)
