Rough & Tough but not Dirty

Being loud may be confrontational at times, but if you want to be heard politically, are there better choices?

The rakyat have been clear on this - they don't want silent politician!!!

The political culture that Gerakan should instill is to speak out without fear or favour, if necessary it can be rough and tough but never dirty. We don't need to spread rumor, lies, concoct tales to win back the heart of the people. BUT WE HAVE TO STAND UP & SPEAK UP ALOUD.

Correction: The statement attributed to Chia in the Star was taken out of context and was different with what that was reported in Chinese dailies. Unfortunately, I don't read Mandarin. My apology, if that is so.

Chia: Stop harping on old govt

PENANG: The new Penang Government should stop playing the 'opposition' role and start focusing on plans to develop the state.

Gerakan secretary-general Datuk Seri Chia Kwang Chye said the state government is now one-month old but the leaders were still playing the role of an opposition and kept harping on the previous administration.......

... Chia said the party leaders had visited five states including Penang after the general election to listen to the grassroots.

"Many of them said that we are not vocal enough and that the party should adopt a stronger approach.

"But being loud can be seen as confrontational. Nothing can be changed overnight and we would need to consider carefully whether this is the right political culture expected by society," he said.
