Making BN Happy & Merry

While I do not necessary disagree with what Karpal Singh said, the feeling of most Malays are very clear on the sovereign's jurisdiction on Islam. YB Abdul Malik Abul Kassim should go down from his Komtar office and check the feeling of his Malay electorate. He is calling them narrow-minded Malays.

Oops, do not go down, stay in your office and enjoy the scenic view with LGE. I should have kept quiet, and let Karpal, LGE and Abdul Malik foul up, the more the better.......and merrier.....

Two more police reports lodged

KUALA LUMPUR: Two more police reports were lodged yesterday against Bukit Gelugor MP Karpal Singh for his statement that the Sultan of Perak Sultan Azlan Shah had no jurisdiction over the transfer of Perak Religious Department director Datuk Jamry Sury.

The Malaysian Youth Council (MYC) made a report at the Sentul district police headquarters here, while in Penang, a state Umno Youth official lodged a report at the Jelutong police station.

MYC secretary-general Tajudin Ahmad said Karpal Singh should not have questioned the sovereignty of the Malay Rulers.

“Whether it was intentional or not, the most dignified thing to do is to apologise to the Sultan of Perak immediately,” he said.

Penang Umno Youth secretary Ramlan Ishak made the report after holding a peaceful protest with about 30 other Umno members at the Taman Tun Sardon mosque.

On Thursday, Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, Barisan Nasional Backbenchers Club (BNBBC) chairman Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing and Malay Unity Action Front chairman Osman Abu Bakar lodged separate reports in Kuala Lumpur against Karpal Singh on the same matter.

Meanwhile, it was learnt that a special police team set up to investigate the case, questioned three people who made separate police reports in Ipoh pertaining to Karpal Singh’s remarks.

Penang Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Committee chairman Abdul Malik Abul Kassim said only narrow-minded Malays would kick up a fuss about petty issues like the controversy surrounding DAP chairman Karpal Singh now,

Commenting on reports the Malay community was angry with Karpal Singh’s remarks, Abdul Malik said the “Malays” were not a single entity.

“Only narrow-minded Malays will create hype about this issue. The bigger group of Malays who are progressive are thinking more about the country’s future,” he said during a press conference at the Chief Minister’s office in Komtar yesterday.

Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said the Federal Government was creating an issue to distract attention from economic hardship faced by the people.
