Pest Carnival (Pesta)

Among the Tanjong Gerakan Activity Center members we joke that since we lost in the GE even the rats are against us now. Before GE12 our center was totally free from pest, now we have to take pest control measures, if not documents are chew by rats and the floor litter with their droppings.

I bought some rat poison and its seem to reduce the problem. For most people, it may be a piece of cake to do it, but being a Buddhist it against my very 1st precept. But, drastic time call for drastic measures. (I did wish for the rats to go away & not eat the poison).

The other pest that was getting bad to worst was mosquito. I have to lit mosquito coil. Recently, it did improved greatly because LGE was invited by the Resident Association to their 25th Anniversary celebration. The MPPP Health department came to fog the area a day before the event.

Unfortunately, it was a little too late for some Li Tek school students, they were down with suspected dengue fever. So, the area had another round of fogging last Sunday.

I live in a flat in LGE constituency, the mosquitoes menace is also getting bad. Called the relevant MPPP department today, my call went unanswered, probably break time. Will call on Monday.
