Pakatan wives to pursue Bunga Tanjung debacle
It’s now an issue between Barisan Nasional wives (BNWs) and Pakatan Rakyat wives (PRWs) After their husbands started it, wives of Pakatan elected representatives in Penang will now take over to get to the bottom of the controversy surrounding the Pertubuhan Bunga Tanjung (PBT).
Lim Guan Eng said it is now up to the PRWs to pursue the matter with BNWs........
Updated on 6th march 2009: Nothing to update, as usual all issues
bought up by DAP are conveniently swept under the carpet/skirt.

Ladies are stronger now... you remember the "tug of war" session at the Satu Hati Carnival on 1-May-2008. The ladies' group was so strong... Men lost finally!
Penang Watch: Debate only in his/her own terms?
6 May 2008 - 1:29pm
For decades the ruling parties of Malaysia refused to face off with their rivals because they fear losing out to their opponent -believing that they have the unchallenged official power in their hands. Opposition parties-who formed the new state government now, clamoured for open debates then. Now the table is turned on them: and the same symetrical response is coming out from the state ruling parties-these new `power' refuse to debate openly, taking refuge in lame excuse like `no intellectual basis' for debates! Let me sketch out a few meaty intellectual issues for debate here: the disposal of PBT fund is the issue which MP Ooi and CM LGE are interested. The issue of how the issue is handled by the 2 parties above as government officials is the subject of contention of the PBT office bearers now accused of mischanneling the fund to KL. Are they not linked? Seems like Ooi and the state govt is interested to debate only the former-and `desperate' (just to loan their usage) that they may be queried/challenged on how they are switching between the bloggers/NGO's more flexible role (who are freer to speak since they have no recourse to official channels) and government's role (expected to be more official since they have a phalanyx of consultants and access to official documents)-thereby could cause unfairness to those outside the handles of offficial power. Debating only in terms wanted by the ruling party has always been the obstacles to open debates on public issues in the past. Now it seems to be no different-debate only in `my own terms'. To say that there is `no intellectual basis' gloss over the issue of how the other issue of handling public investigations(if this is what Ooi wanted) were to be conducted. The issue is of utmost important as there will be more and more occasions where the roles of scattered-gun bloggers runs counter or at different velocities with official spokepersonship-potentially disrupting efficacies of either/both. It is not an original observation here that the new state government is still finding its way to `act like a state governemnt'-and neither is it an observation by the BN folks either.
I wonder which of the skirt Koh Tsu Koon is hiding under.. whatmore being the advisor of PBT?? Haven't heard a peep from him at all....
I just came across this blog (http://minorityview.wordpress.com/) from a person called "tellingtruth" in Susan Loone's blog (http://sloone.wordpress.com/2008/05/06/is-jeff-oois-desperate-housewives-remark-sexist/). It's really an interesting blog. Please check out.
DAP Government still remained the complaint habbit even got the Penang State already why, do we really need to listen to all this complaint or we want to see the result ?
Putting aside the issue of dissolution of PBT and the public debate, what are you guy's views on how the bulk of the money was transfered to a federal org? I'm not talking about "it's their right to do whatever they want with their money", but as penangites how do you feel about Puan Sri Chui and gang's decision?
For me as a Penangite, my problem is where the money went. I feel that they betrayed Penang's trust and the money should all go to Penang's charities. I believe that all this hoohah would be a non-issue had PBT donated all the money to Penang charities if they don't trust the incoming members with the money.
fishhook,
The money that went to Bakti will be used for Penang charities ONLY. It went to Bakti for safekeeping. I guess PBT afraid money will be used by DAP vultures for themselves or their cronies.
hmm... really?? You sure?? Is that what Puan Sri Chui assures you??... Unless you have inside info, I don't remember her mentioning anything about the intention of getting the money back from BAKTI for Penang charities.
then why give pittance out to Penang charities now but the main bulk to BAKTI? Why not just distribute all to Penang charities now and just disband the society?
Fishhook thinks that being the adviser for PBT, Ah Koon must give his view. He is probably out of touch with reality.
Most NGOs, clubs and associations appoint advisers and patrons. Ah Koon is an adviser or patron to hundreds of organizations in Penang.
These organizations do not expect Ah Koon to advise them if they did not seek his advise. They only want Ah Koon patronage ($$$$$$$)when he was the CM.
PBT wants to handle the issue themself. PBT have not seek his advise so he do not needs to advise.
fishhook,
From little birds, minorityview is getting insider source to confirm that the money is transferred to Bakti to honor some charitable project in Penang.
More to come. This is what I have been told. Keep updated with http://minorityview.wordpress.com
On the evening of 9th March 2008, LGE visited Sdra. Koh Tsu Koon at the Chief Minister office in Komtar to discuss the transfer of government.
By his action, LGE acknowledge that Sdra. Koh is still the Chief Minister albeit a caretaker one.
Hence, Puan Sri Chui is still the PBT Presiden at that point in time.
fishhook,
You must be naive if you think PBT members will allowed the money to go elsewhere other than Penang charities.
No point arguing, just wait and see where the money in Bakti safekeeping eventually go to which charity organizations.
I may be naive but what assurance is there that BAKTI will return the money unless Puan Sri Chui has a legal undertaking with them on it. If she did I'm sure we'd have known about it.
Minorityview's view is solely his/her view and he/she stresses again and again that he/she is not a lawyer, so his/her views may not be legally correct. His/her view is as valid as any of ours (non lawyer).
Best thing is to wait and hope that BAKTI doesn't double cross PBT and the people of Penang.

That blogger in his article "Re-inventing the Gerakan" also wrote
"Just, most of the time, it is the member self-censored themselves (even myself, I do) until voice can not be heard."
Maybe he wrote "The real desperate housewives" as a means of self-censor or syiok sendiri to justify to himself why he is still with Gerakan.....sad isn't it...
What the blogger wrote in actual context:-
I am a member of Gerakan. I hope I always able to pronounce myself as Gerakanist.
Last Sunday, I attended a “Re-Inventing Gerakan’s Workshop“, which we have a dialogs with Koh Tsu Koon and Chia Kwang Chye.
We had a no-hold-bar discussion. I did not agree the views shared by Koh, nevertheless I admit that I do not have a solid ground (at this moment), to support my ground (in my mind) and to reject his views.
Koh is a pragmatic leader, I respect that.
To a certain extend, Gerakan is agree to disagree. Surprised? I am not joking.
Just, most of the time, it is the member self-censored themselves (even myself, I do) until voice can not be heard. By all means, I will challenge the limit and tolerance of Gerakan’s leaders, with my constructive opinions.
Looks, has Gerakan ever reprimand its member for making constructive opinion to the party? As far as I am concern, there is none! So, what I need to worry about.
After all, I am just an ordinary human being, earning an ordinary living for my family.
But, at least I try to do something, for a betterment of multi-ethnics society. That’s why I am in Gerakan.
